Gina R. Bellinger, President
Gina R. Bellinger serves as the founder and President of Food Safety Net
Services. Gina obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology
from Texas A&M University. Her research interests include development of
baseline and microbial mapping data in the meat industry. She is co-author
of several noted publications concerning the control of pathogens in food
processing operations and has been involved in the food industry for the
last 15 years. Her involvement and support of the food industry has earned
her several awards, including the NMA Supplier of the Year Award in 2003 and
the FSIS Women Owned Small Business of the Year award in 2006.
John W. Bellinger, Chairman of the Board
John W. Bellinger is the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Food Safety
Net Services. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M
University in 1976 and a Master of Science degree in 1978. While completing
his graduate studies, he was an instructor of animal science and coached the
Texas A&M Meat Judging Team. John is also the CEO of Agri-West
International, Inc., an international and domestic marketing firm offering
brokerage and consulting services for the food industry. He has served as
the Chairman of the Southwest Meat Association, on the Executive Committee
of the U.S. Meat Export Federation, on the Texas Beef Council Board of
Directors, on various committees of the National Cattleman's Beef
Association, on the Texas A&M Agricultural Advisory Council, and is the
Founder of the Houston Livestock Show Intercollegiate Meat Judging Contest.
John also served as Chairman of the U.S. Meat Export Federation in 2006.
Dr. Gary C. Smith, Partner and Member of the Board of Directors
Dr. Gary C. Smith is a Partner and a member of the Board of Directors for
Food Safety Net Services. Dr. Smith is currently a distinguished professor
of Meat Science at Colorado State University. He received his Bachelor of
Science degree from California State University in 1960 and his Master of
Science degree from Washington State University in 1962. He earned a Ph.D.
from Texas A&M University in 1968. Dr. Smith has received numerous awards
in teaching, research, and service from the American Meat Science
Association, the American Society of Animal Science, the National Meat
Association, the U.S. Meat Export Federation, Beef Magazine, National
Livestock Grading and Marketing Association, the International Meat Coaches
Association, the Livestock Publications Council, and the National
Association of Meat Purveyors. Dr. Smith and his wife Kay have 6 children
and 13 grandchildren and enjoy living in beautiful Colorado.
Robert A. Pickard, Member of the Board of Directors
Bob Pickard joined Food Safety Net Services in the spring of 2002 as a
consultant and was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors in 2003.
He graduated from Texas A&M University with his Bachelor of Business
Administration in 1961 and then with a MBA in 1962. He spent 35 years
working with two department stores in both the operations management and
finance areas of the business. Bob and his wife, Mary, have three children
and four grandsons.
Alan W. Uecker, Chief Financial Officer
Alan Uecker joined Food Safety Net Services as the Chief Financial Officer
in 2004 after numerous years in the accounting and finance industry. Alan
attended The University of Texas at Austin where he received his Bachelor's
of Business Administration in Accounting. He earned his Master's Degree in
Taxation from the University of Texas at San Antonio and is a Certified
Public Accountant. While earning his Master's Degree, Alan became a member
of Beta Gamma Sigma at UTSA. Alan and his wife, Jill, have two daughters,
Meghan and Rachel.
Dr. Shanna J. Boleman, Vice President of Technical Sales
Dr. Shanna Boleman currently serves as the Vice President of Technical Sales
for Food Safety Net Services. Formerly, Dr. Boleman worked with FSNS
through her consulting firm, S4 Consulting. As a technical consultant to
the food and meat industries, Dr. Boleman provided technical expertise in
all areas of food processing including food safety, new product development,
research trial design and implementation, ingredient procurement and
consolidation, and various other technical areas. Previously, Dr. Boleman
held the position of Product Development Specialist for ConAgra Refrigerated
Prepared Foods in Downers Grove, IL. Dr. Boleman received her Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University in 1991, Master of Science from Louisiana
State University in 1993 and her Ph.D. from Texas A&M University in 1997.
Dr. Boleman and her husband, Scott, enjoy fishing, raising 4-H projects,
playing baseball and watching Texas Aggie sporting events with their two
sons, Seth and Sage.
Dr. Wendy Warren-Serna, Vice President of Technical Services
Dr. Wendy Warren-Serna joined Food Safety Net Services in 2001 as a Research
Manager. She currently serves as the Vice President of Technical Services.
Dr. Warren-Serna received her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from
Oregon State University and her Ph.D. and Postdoctoral in
Microbiology-Molecular Immunology from the University of Texas Health
Science Center in San Antonio. While obtaining her Ph.D., Wendy earned the
NIH Predoctoral Fellow designation as well as a training grant in Molecular
Mechanisms of Pathogenicity. Wendy and her husband, Michael, have one
daughter, Simone.
Sherri L. Jenkins, Vice President of Auditing and Consulting Services
Sherri Jenkins joined Food Safety Net Services in 2007 as the Director of
Auditing and Consulting Services. Before joining FSNS, Sherri worked more
than 10 years in the meat industry serving in several different roles in the
food safety and quality departments. Sherri attended Colorado State
University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Equine Science and
her Master of Science in Animal Science with an emphasis in Meat Science and
Microbiology. She is a member of the American Meat Science Association,
the International Association of Food Protection, and the Institute of Food
Technologists. Sherri enjoys living in Colorado with her family.
Edward Miller, Director of Human Resources
Edward Miller is the Director of Human Resources at Food Safety Net
Services. Ed joined FSNS in 2004 after working for more than 15 years as a
Human Resource Manager. Ed earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Human
Resource Management from the University of Oregon and is a member of the
Society of Human Resource Management, the San Antonio Human Resources and
Management Association, and holds a certification in Professional in Human
Resources from the Human Resources Certification Institute. Ed and his
wife, Sharon, have one son, Christopher.
Dr. Wendy Maduff, Director of Technical Services
Dr. Wendy Maduff joined Food Safety Net Services in 2007 as the
Technical Services Manager. Before joining Food Safety Net Services,
Dr. Maduff worked in various teaching and research positions at the
University of California at Davis. She received her Bachelor of Science
in Human Nutrition from Virginia Tech University, her Master of Science
in Microbiology from Clemson University, and her Ph.D. in Food Science
from the University of California at Davis. Dr. Maduff also obtained a
Provisional Methods Patent: "Two Primers to Detect Pathogenic E. coli
without False Positives of the Currently Available Primers"; UC Case
#2007-039-1.
Steve Billingsley, IT Manager
Steve Billingsley joined Food Safety Net Services as the IT Manager in 2005.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of
Texas at San Antonio and his Master of Science in Information Engineering
and Management from Southern Methodist University. He is certified as a
Microsoft Systems Engineer for NT 4.0 and Windows 2000. He also works on a
computer poll that forms part of the BCS formula for Division I football.
Steve is married to his wife, Rebecca, and enjoys golf, college football,
and jazz music.
Terri Pease, Marketing Manager
Terri Pease joined Food Safety Net Services in 2006 as the Marketing
Manager. Before joining FSNS, she worked in the Real Estate industry performing marketing and sales for a Fortune 500 company. Terri earned her
Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from Texas
A&M University in College Station, Texas. She is a member of the American
Marketing Association and serves on the Young Former Student Board for the
Mays Business School at Texas A&M. Terri and her husband, Robert, have one
son, John Dennis.
Robert Pease, Quality Systems Manager
Robert Pease joined Food Safety Net Services in 2004 as an Audit Specialist after several years of working as a Quality Assurance Supervisor and Quality Assurance Manager in different food processing plants. He currently serves as Quality Systems Manager at FSNS. Robert graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Development. He has attended educational trainings and courses in further processed and RTE production, poultry bio-security, HACCP and Quality Systems Development, and Animal Welfare and Handling. He is also certified by the International HACCP Alliance. Robert and his wife, Terri, have one son, John Dennis.
Dustin Morgenroth, Laboratory Manager, San Antonio
Dustin Morgenroth joined Food Safety Net Services in 2007 as the
Laboratory Manager for the San Antonio facility. Dustin graduated from
Texas A&M University with a Bachelor's degree in Poultry Science.
Dustin gained numerous years of experience in different areas of the
food industry. He has served in leadership roles in dairy, meat,
marinade, and manufacturing plants, as well as in various positions in
the poultry industry. He is also very active in judging poultry at
various stock shows across Texas. Dustin, and his wife Lisa, have two
daughters, Caitlin and Taylor.
Omar Galvan, Assistant Laboratory Manager, San Antonio
Omar Galvan joined Food Safety Net Services in 2004 as a Media Tech I and
was then promoted to the Media/Reagent Supervisor. Before becoming the
Assistant Laboratory Manager in 2007, Omar served as the Laboratory Process
Supervisor for FSNS. He has extensive laboratory knowledge as well as
teaching and leadership experience. Omar received an Associate of Arts
degree in Pre-Nursing from Southwest Texas Junior College and a Bachelor of
Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of
the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. He received his MBA from the University of Phoenix-San Antonio campus in 2008. Omar and his wife, Erica, have been
married since 1997, and his hobbies include learning about and working with
tropical fish and watching Science Fiction movies.
David Bosco, Regional Manager
David Bosco joined Food Safety Net Services in 2001 in our DFW laboratory.
In 2004, David was instrumental in opening the Phoenix facility, which he
currently manages. He was promoted to Regional Manager in 2008. He earned
a degree in Food Science from the Essex Agricultural School, and is HACCP
certified. David and his wife have three children, Alex, Vincent, and
Samantha. He enjoys hiking and traveling in his spare time.
Tracy Rice, Assistant Laboratory Manager, Phoenix
Tracy Rice joined Food Safety Net Services in 2005 at our San Antonio
laboratory before quickly moving to our Green Bay, Wisconsin facility to
work as a laboratory technician. She then transferred to the Phoenix
facility to serve as the Assistant Laboratory Manager in August 2006. Tracy
has extensive knowledge in Microbiology as well as all aspects of the
laboratory and laboratory procedures. Tracy received a Bachelor of Science
with a double major in Biology and Psychology and a minor in Chemistry from
Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.
Ray Collins, Laboratory Manager, Dallas-Fort Worth
Ray Collins is the Laboratory Manager for the Dallas-Fort Worth location. Ray has
worked at Food Safety Net Services since 2005, after completing over 20
years in the United States Army. While in the army, Ray served in the U.S.
Army Veterinary Service. He also earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business
Administration while serving in the military. Ray is certified as an
instructor for the Food Management Program and the Educational Foundation of
the National Restaurant Association, as well as a registered auditor for the
ISO 9001:2000 Lead Auditor Training Course. Ray and his wife, Tina, have
three sons, Joshua, Ryan, and Raymond.
Greg Schultz, Laboratory Manager, Green Bay
Greg Schultz joined Food Safety Net Services in 2005 as the Laboratory
Manager in the Green Bay, Wisconsin facility. Greg received his Bachelor of
Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Mankato State
University in Mankato, Minnesota. He has over 10 years in food laboratory
experience, and has also attended a HACCP training course. Greg and his
wife, Barbara, have one daughter, Rachel. He enjoys fishing, camping and
spending time with his family in his spare time.
Kelly Suprise, Laboratory Manager, Atlanta
Kelly Surprise is the Laboratory Manager at the Atlanta facility. Kelly
joined Food Safety Net Services in 2005 after gaining numerous years of
experience in quality assurance and laboratory services. She holds a
Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and is an ASQ Certified Quality
Auditor. Kelly is also a veteran of Desert Storm. She and her husband,
David, have three children, Noelle, Nicholas, and Matthew.
Jenny Triplett, Technical Sales, Midwest/Southeast Region
Jenny Triplett joined Food Safety Net Services in 2006 as a Technical Sales
Representative for the Wisconsin/Midwest region. Jenny joined FSNS after
numerous years of experience in the industry as a Food Microbiology
Laboratory Manager. Jenny graduated with her Associate's Degree in
Biotechnology from MATC-Madison and her Bachelor of Science Degree in
Business Management from Ottawa University in Brookfield, WI. She has
recently been accepted into the MBA program at UW-Milwaukee and plans to
begin work on her advanced degree in the near future. Jenny and her
husband, Chris, have one daughter, Ava.
Kimberly Smith, Technical Sales, Southwest Region
Kimberly Smith joined Food Safety Net Services in 2006 as the Technical
Sales Representative for the Dallas/Fort Worth area. She joined FSNS after
numerous years in the industry as a Microbiologist and a Chemist. While
working in the laboratory, Kimberly gained knowledge and experience by
working with different accredited methodologies, many types of laboratory
equipment, and by conducting daily and monthly quality control procedures.
She also has experience implementing customer service protocols in order to
better meet the needs of her customers. Kimberly graduated with her
Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and a minor in Chemistry from the
University of Texas at Arlington.
Jarrod Miller, Senior Auditing Specialist
Jarrod Miller joined Food Safety Net Services in 2004 as an Audit Specialist
after working several years in the meat processing industry. Jarrod
obtained his Bachelor and his Master of Science degrees from Texas Tech
University in Lubbock, Texas. His research interests include quality and
palatability of beef products and farm to fork research. He has attended
several training courses in Animal Welfare and Handling and Specified Risk
Materials. He is HACCP certified and is a member of the American Meat
Science Association. Jarrod enjoys spending time at the lake and snow
skiing with friends during his free time.
Lori Ernst, Audit Specialist
joined Food Safety Net Services in 2007 as an Audit Specialist.
Before joining FSNS, Lori worked more than 20 years in various roles in the
meat industry, including slaughter, further processing, and ready-to-eat.
She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Teikyo-Westmar University in
LeMars, IA and her MBA from Colorado State University. Lori enjoys hiking
in the Colorado mountains and riding her Harley Davidson in her free time!
Karen Watkins, Audit Specialist
Karen Watkins joined Food Safety Net Services in 2007 as an Audit
Specialist. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry
from Elizabeth City State University in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.
Karen has more than 10 years of experience in the meat and poultry
industry. Her experience includes pork slaughter, whole muscle
fabrication, value-added products, fresh ground sausage, fresh poultry
processing, bacon processing, dry-cured products, batter and breading
processing, ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat processes. She also has
experience in pork, poultry and beef further processing for hot dogs and
deli meats. Karen is HACCP, Lead Auditor, Thermal Processing, Process
Validation, EIAO FSA, ServSafe and SuperSafeMark Certified. She is also
recognized as a Certified Food Safety Professional. Karen currently
resides in Chester, VA. In her free time she enjoys playing tennis,
shopping and spending time with the people that she loves.
