The Special projects department of Food Safety Net Service is able to assist you with a wide variety of services above and beyond the standard. We offer several options for your non-routine testing needs. Receive unsurpassed customer service with the ability to talk directly to the Principal Investigator. Our turnaround times are competitive and FSNS is flexible to work within your time constraints.
We have performed numerous studies against a number of important food pathogens, such as Escherichia coli O157:H7, Listeria monocytogenes, and Salmonella species as well as other organisms of interest (such as spoilage organisms or common contaminants).
Challenge studies have been used at our facility to judge the effectiveness of environmental sanitizers, post-processing aids, or cooking and cooling processes to destroy organisms of interest.
FSNS is experienced in validation studies, including performance validation of commercial test kits, verification of the action of antimicrobial ingredients in a produce formulation, or validation of a microbial intervention used during processing.
We have performed preservative efficacy tests to confirm that the preservatives in your product are adequate to protect it from microbial growth, assay maximum internal temperature to verify thoroughness of cooking, or help determine whether your product can be classified as a Non-Potentially Hazardous Food.
